Meet the Framers

Our Mission

At Queen City Framing, our mission is to provide our customers with the best framing for their art, and amazing art supplies.

We believe that everyone should have access to the tools and resources they need to become an artist and showcase work.

Joy Kelso

Current Owner/Artist

Joy, a southern Idaho native & U.S. Army Combat Veteran, settled here in 2020 after using her G.I. Bill to earn her B.A. in Theology & minored in Entrepreneurship from Carroll College.

She is a local ceramicist, maintaining a little studio off Rodney St. with limited hours. In her off-time, she can be found happily knitting at home, with her dog, Harper.

Erica Selby

Framing Lead

Erica, a Montana native and local artist, is an accomplished framer and has her B.F.A. in Fine Art with a minor in Art History from University of Montana. She is a local fiber artist, specializing in organic sculptural work, has recently started painting murals, and is pursuing other public installation work in Helena. In her off-time, she can be found bobbing around in the creek by her home, catching frogs.

Lily Hoelscher

Art Department Lead/Framer

Lily, an Oregonian transplant to Helena after earning her B.A. in Theatrical Studies and minor Spanish from Carroll College, comes from an artistic family and continues the tradition here. She is very active in Helena's theatre scene, acting, singing & writing for several playhouses in town.

In her off time, she travels extensively and is a member of our Messy Sketchbook Club.

Chrissy Funk

Framer/Marketing Lead

Chrissy, an Oklahoma native, settled here after moving from framing at Michael's Arts & Craft Stores.

Not just a Framer, she is also our Graphic Designer, and a talented Multimedia Artist. She's VERY active in our Tiny Stamp Club as a printmaker and our prompt queen. As a film aficionado, she's always ready with fun movie references, and a voracious music fan.
